HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK REMOVES VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Vaccination will no longer be required for travel with Midwest Honor Flight in 2022
BALTIMORE, Md. (February 23, 2022) – The Honor Flight Network has released a statement that will be of interest to the Veterans and Guardians on our waitlist, as well as to our volunteers. The Honor Flight Network has announced that proof of full vaccination will no longer be required for Honor Flight participants traveling in 2022. The Honor Flight Network and Midwest Honor Flight will continue to follow all local and state guidelines as well as those set forth by the TSA and FAA for airports, airplanes, and buses.
Midwest Honor Flight has scheduled two flights for the spring of 2022 with the hopes of scheduling an additional three flights for the fall. These flights will be announced as soon as the planning is complete. Veterans, Guardians, and Crew members will be notified soon of their selection for flights this spring.
“Our first priority on every Midwest Honor Flight Mission is the safety of our Veterans, Guardians, and Crew,” says Aaron Van Beek, the President of Midwest Honor Flight. “In light of this change, we will be informing all our Veterans, Guardians, and Crew of this change and will give them a choice to travel without the vaccine requirement. We know that some Veterans chose not to get vaccinated and we know that some Veterans were unable to due to health conditions. With the removal of this requirement, all Veterans will be able to travel once again regardless of vaccination status.”
At this time, the TSA and FAA Mask Mandate for all airports, airplanes, and buses remains in effect. It is set to expire on March 18, 2022. Midwest Honor Flight participants will be required to follow this mandate if it is extended.
The Honor Flight Network’s Board of Directors and Midwest Honor Flight’s Board of Directors will continue to monitor any new changes and update the public as needed.
